Our commitment to you.
At the Outdoor Learning Alliance, every day is a chance to explore, learn, and grow in nature. You’ll be welcomed by friendly adults who care about how you feel and what helps you learn best. You’ll have your own keyworker — someone who gets to know you, listens to you, and helps you feel safe.
We use fun tools like Zones of Regulation to help you understand your emotions, and Therapeutic Thinking to support your choices and wellbeing. You’ll spend time outdoors, try new activities, and learn in ways that suit you — whether that’s building, creating, talking, or just being in the woods.
At the end of each day, we’ll talk with your school or carers to share how things went and plan what’s next. You’re not just attending — you’re part of something special.

What to wear
At the Outdoor Learning Alliance, we spend lots of time outside — in the woods, on the grass, and sometimes in the mud! To stay comfy and safe, it’s important to wear the right clothes.
Here’s what you’ll need:
-
A waterproof coat and trousers to keep you dry
-
Boots or wellies for walking and exploring
-
Warm clothes like jumpers, hats and gloves when it’s cold
-
A sunhat and sunscreen when it’s sunny
-
Spare clothes just in case you get wet or muddy
Don’t worry if you’re not sure — your grown-ups and keyworker can help. Just come ready to have fun, get messy, and enjoy the outdoors!
02
What will we be doing?
Every day at the Outdoor Learning Alliance is full of adventure, creativity, and fun! You’ll get to try loads of exciting activities like:
-
Building and construction — using real tools and natural materials to make dens, bridges, and cool creations
-
Cooking outdoors — helping to prepare tasty snacks and meals over a fire or camp stove
-
Exploring nature — Digging, planting, and discovering wildlife
-
Team challenges — working with others to solve problems, play games, and build trust
-
Quiet time — relaxing, drawing, talking, or just enjoying the fresh air
You’ll learn new skills, make friends, and have space to be yourself. Whether you love getting muddy, being creative, or just having a chat — there’s something here for you.

03
What will we eat?
Food at the Outdoor Learning Alliance is part of the adventure! You’ll help cook tasty things like wood-fired pizzas, sandwiches, and even meals on an open fire. There’s often hot chocolate to warm you up and snacks to keep your energy going while you explore.
Sometimes you’ll help prepare the food, sometimes you’ll just enjoy it — but it’s always shared, safe, and delicious. We make sure everyone’s needs are looked after, so if you have allergies or special food rules, just let your keyworker know.
Eating together is part of the fun — and part of feeling at home.
