The Outdoor Learning Alliance is powered by a diverse collective of educators, practitioners, and system leaders who share a deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and transformation. Our team brings together expertise from mainstream, alternative, and therapeutic settings — united by a belief that every child deserves connection, purpose, and a place to thrive. We are trauma-informed, relational, and relentlessly learner-centred. From forest school leaders to SEND specialists, from social care to strategic educational leaders our people design and deliver provision that heals, inspires, and empowers. We don’t just teach — we listen, adapt, and advocate.

Jon is a passionate, child-centered educational leader with a proven track record in transforming inclusive provision. As a secondary school principal and system-level strategist, Jon has led whole-school improvement, driven trauma-informed reform, and shaped multi-agency approaches to SEND, safeguarding, and attendance.
With deep expertise in curriculum design, commissioning, and governance, Jon builds capacity at scale — influencing policy and embedding relational practice across diverse contexts. His leadership is defined by empathy, operational rigour, and a relentless commitment to ensuring every learner thrives.
Chris is a dedicated SEND professional with a rich background spanning primary education, charitable leadership in disability charities, and strategic roles in local government. Beginning his career as a primary teacher, Chris quickly developed a passion for inclusive practice and became a trusted SEND lead, championing tailored support and early intervention for vulnerable learners.
His commitment to equity led him to hold key positions within SEND-focused charities, where he drove community engagement, advocacy, and capacity-building across diverse settings. While working within a Local Authority SEND team, Chris brought deep insight, operational rigour, and a collaborative ethos to system-level improvement — shaping provision that is responsive, relational, and rooted in the needs of children and families.
